In the heart of the oldest city in India, Varanasi lies this beautiful restaurant serving the best food ever! Associated with the heritage hotel Taj Ganges located in Nadesar, Varuna's food always feels like home away from home. The papad and achaar served prior to the ordered food gives you the essence of the rich culture and tradition of Uttar Pradesh. My most favourite is the galouti kebab! Their litti chokha is also authentic and very palatable. Suits everyone's tastebuds mostly! I definitely recommend this place to everyone - whether traveling for work, leisure or holy pilgrimage! Must visit when in Kashi!

This restaurant serves authentic Benarasi food in a fine-dine setting. I dined here twice during my stay in Varanasi and I would highly recommend the Satvik Thali here, which tasted absolutely divine without onion and garlic. Other dishes you can try here would be the Bhuna Makai Shorba and Dum Aloo Benarasi and the kebabs.

Varuna has a very authentic taste. Service and ambience is too good to visit again. We ordered * Dal Varuna * Jeera Aloo * Palak kofta * Paneer Lababdar * Garlic naan * Onion kulcha * Missi Roti Would recommend this place for fine dining!

Food and Service was good. Place is excellent. Calm and peaceful. Menu (price wise)shown in Zomato is an old one and price has significantly increased in the Varuna Resturant of Taj Ganges. kindly update the menu. 5/5 ratings

Staff is good. Food is also very tasty. Delivery and preparation of food is on time. It's a nice place to try out and I'm sure that every person visit this place will get a good experience.

Went to taste the thali - Banarasi Muslim Gharana Thali and Satvik Thali. Read a lot about them from different blogs. Personally I preferred the tastes of the pure veg satvik thali. Low on masala and high on taste it was. The ras malai provided a sweet end to the experience. The muslim gharana thali was okay. Expected better tastes @1200 (+ taxes). But the mutton biryani was the standout dish. The mutton pieces will simply melt in your mouth. Rest were just okay. Again the service was top notch as you would expect from a Taj.

This is one of the two fine dine restaurants present in Taj Ganges, Varuna opens only at the lunch and dinner hours and usually not so crowded. Buffets offered costs around 1800 INR per person (It may vary) which is worth the food they serve. Pretty quiet ambience with good vibes they play music if you request. You get a worth spending experience here at Varuna.

Varuna serves top class North Indian food in plush ambiance with efficient service. We had Dum Murgh Biryani and Kadai Baingan - both of which were good. Kiwi Caprioska was good. The papadums as snack with your drinks is a great idea. Hot Gulab Jamun made for a lovely dessert

One fine day I visited here with my mom and dad. The name 'Taj' always increase our expectations in terms of food and ambiance. I thought of visiting this place to spend a luxury night with my parents. We tried many dishes in starters, main course and desserts. In starters we had Kukkar Chat, non veg kebab platter. I liked both the dishes and my dad liked kukkar chat a lot. In main course, we ordered a fish curry as my mom loves fish so that was only option we had. My mom enjoyed the fish. Last but not the least, we all enjoyed papad. If i talk about ambiance so it didnt meet my expectations. It felt like a restuarant with casual dinning. Staff was very friendly and professional. Overall i liked this place but ambiance needs some touchup.
