About

Kathegaara is the tale of a storyteller who lives in a small temple-town in 1940s India. Rooted in the spirit of the Upanishads, the story gently asks timeless questions: Where does art come from? Is the artist a vessel or a creator? How closely should an artist hold on to their art? As these questions ripple through the storyteller’s world, the everyday life of the village—its quirks, silences, songs, and seasons—unfolds around him. Amid temple bells and monsoon winds, children’s laughter and old wisdom, the village becomes a living, breathing character, carrying the weight of myth and memory. Blurring the line between the sacred and the simple, Kathegara is a lyrical meditation on the source of knowledge and the place of the artist within the world.

A quiet, poignant tribute to the art of listening, telling, and being told.
