The author and playwright pioneered the ‘Nai Kahani Movement’ in Hindustani Literature; we applaud his remarkable work which offers unapologetic and candid revelations of human frailty, his dramatic artistry and his commitment to chronicle a full consciousness of life with all the emotional and social risks it entailed – a life shared with his wife and fellow-writer Anita Rakesh.
