Embark on the exhilarating Andharban Jungle Trek, a challenging yet beginner-friendly adventure through one of Maharashtra’s most scenic trails. Translating to “The Dark Forest,” Andharban is a dense jungle located in the Pimpri region, approximately 1.5 hours from Lonavla, and is a popular trekking destination in southern India.

Situated at an altitude of 2160 feet in the Tamhini Ghats, this trek covers a distance of 13 kilometres and typically takes around 5–6 hours to complete. The trail involves a gradual descent, making it accessible for first-time trekkers while offering an immersive experience in the heart of nature.

Starting from the base village of Pimpri at Tamhini Ghat, trekkers will journey through thick forests, walk along ridges, and witness breathtaking views of the Kundalika Valley, Bhira Dam, and the surrounding mountain ranges. This region also marks the origin of the Kundalika River, renowned for its white-water rafting adventures.

Midway through the trek, you’ll arrive at Hirdi—a remote, picturesque village and the only settlement on the trail. Here, you can arrange for a meal from the locals and take a short break before continuing your descent toward the Konkan region, eventually reaching Bhira.

The second leg of the trek spans 4–5 kilometres, offering a gentler terrain and stunning vistas of Bhira Dam’s backwaters. Whether you’re seeking natural beauty or a physical challenge, the Andharban Jungle Trek promises a memorable escape into the wild.

Pick-Up Details:

5:00 AM- Hadapsar ( gadital)

5:25 AM – Reporting at Shivajinagar – JM Corner

5:35 AM – Reporting at University Road – Pune University Circle

5:45 AM – Reporting at Baner-Balewadi High Street – Zudio Square

6:10 AM – Reporting at Wakad

6:20 AM – Reporting at Hinjewadi – Shivaji Chowk, Lemon Tree Hotel

Trek Schedule:

8:30 AM: Arrive at the base village of Pimpri, the starting point of the trek.

8:30 AM: Breakfast at the base village.

1:00 PM: Begin the trek from Pimpri Village. Reach Hirdi for a group lunch, then return to Pimpri Village.

5:00 PM: Reach back to the base village after completing the trek. Freshen up and prepare for departure.

8:30 PM: Arrive back in Pune. (Please note: A delay of up to one hour is possible due to traffic conditions.)
