The ceramic sessions are a hands-on, immersive exploration into the world of clay—an ancient yet ever-evolving medium. Designed for both beginners and practising artists, these sessions blend technical instruction with intuitive exploration, creating a space where creativity, materiality, and mindfulness intersect.
Participants will learn fundamental techniques such as slab building, coiling, pinching, and surface treatments, gradually advancing to more complex hand-building methods and expressive sculptural forms. Each session encourages individual expression, with time dedicated to experimenting with texture, form, and surface design using underglazes, oxides, and carving tools.
Alongside technical skill-building, the sessions foster a deeper connection to the tactile process of making. Emphasis is placed on slowing down, observing the behaviour of the material, and letting ideas emerge through direct engagement with clay. Discussions around historical traditions, contemporary practices, and cross-cultural influences provide context and inspiration, broadening one’s understanding of ceramics as both art and craft.
