About

Mapping Memory through Material

Join us this International Museum Day to stitch, reflect, and remember—one thread at a time.

About the Workshop:

As part of Purvaee, KNMA’s program exploring artistic lineages through memory, material, and pedagogy, this immersive hands-on workshop invites participants to explore cloth as a site of memory and imagination.

Led by contemporary artist Nidhi Khurana, Cartographies of Cloth blends tactile making with conceptual reflection. Participants will engage in stitching, drawing, and layering exercises that use textiles and thread as tools to explore memory, space, and self.

Together, we’ll map emotions, revisit personal geographies, and stitch together shared stories. No prior art experience needed—just curiosity and openness to explore.

What to Expect:

✨ A guided workshop exploring the expressive potential of cloth and thread

🧶 Hands-on activities that combine stitching, mapping, and storytelling

🗣 An artist talk by Nidhi Khurana with visuals and video excerpts
