
Join for the screening of Achal Mishra’s film Chaar Phool Hai Aur Duniya Hai, based on late Hindi writer and poet Vinod Kumar Shukla’s (1937-2025) life and work. The screening will be followed by a panel conversation with Shashwat Gopal Shukla - son of late writer, Ashok Vajpeyi, cultural critic, Achal Mishra and moderated by Neha Zooni Tickoo, curator, KNMA.
Synopsis: A meandering brook of moments from two afternoons spent with Vinod Kumar Shukla, his wife and son at their home in Raipur, saunters between the mingling geographies of past, present and future, drifting in and out of pauses – to ponder, to reflect, to reminisce, and to share.

Director's Bio: Achal Mishra (b.1996) is a filmmaker and photographer from Darbhanga, Bihar. His debut feature film Gamak Ghar (2019) premiered at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, where it won the Manish Acharya Award for New Voices in Indian Cinema. His medium-length film Dhuin (2022) won the Grand Prix at the Festival du cinéma de Brive. Both Gamak Ghar and Dhuin were shown at the Museum of Modern Art, New York in 2022. His latest, Chaar Phool Hain Aur Duniya Hai (2024), documents two afternoons with the Hindi writer Vinod Kumar Shukla.
