SYNOPSIS

C/O Kancharapalem is a first of its kind in Telugu, an independent film, the directorial debut of Venkatesh Maha that was completely shot with non actors in the town of Kancharapalem, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It tells the story of Raju, is a 49 year old man who is given an ultimatum by his townspeople to get married or be thrown out of the community. Raju's plight is interwoven with the love stories of Sundaram and his puppy love for Sunitha, Joseph and his fondness for a dancer, and Gaddam, a wine shop worker mesmerized by the eyes of Saleema. This anthology of four love stories is told with wit, humor and keen observation of the daily life of the people of Kancharapalem. The film was released to much critical and commercial success in Sept of 2018 and was presented to the audience by star actor Rana Daggubati. It was the first Telugu film to be screened at the New York Indian Film Festival in 2018 and recently won the Critics Choice Film Award in Mumbai.
