A contemporary dance duet that delves into the diverse effects of touch between and upon two female bodies from a personal and socio-political standpoint. Touch, often defined as a point of contact between two bodies, is deeply shaped by cultural contexts that influence its meaning and impact. It has been used to assert hierarchies in both public spaces and intimate relationships. These gendered encounters with touch imprint themselves on the body, altering its movements—shaping how it reacts to avoid or initiate touch.

In this work, the dancers use their bodies as living canvases to investigate the politics of touch. They go beyond touch as mere sensation, uncovering its transformative potential as a form of intervention. The piece raverses a spectrum from intimacy to violence, refusing to settle at any fixed point, instead it embodies the contradictions and complexities of touch as both an experience and a powerful intervention.

The performance will be presented as part of G5A Warehouse Performance Grant Season 24-25.
