About the Event

The closing day of the 16 mm Film Festival will see a grand lineup of films in four events.

Since it's an entire night of film screenings, we will open the doors before/after each section.

So you just need to buy 1 ticket (!!) but you can attend all screenings.

SCHEDULE:

8pm: STRAIGHT8

8.45pm: EK MINUTE

9.15pm: INTERNATIONAL SHORTS

10.30pm: CHALCHITRAKAR

CHALCHITRAKAR: Concluding the two-week long intensive workshop of 16 mm DIY filmmaking, Harkat will be screening the films produced by the participants on the closing day of the festival in an event called Chalchitrakar (an ode to the moving image and its artists).

STRAIGHT 8: Founded in London, 1999, Straight 8 is a global one-super-8-cartridge-no-editing short film competition. To put it more simply, you shoot as you would edit, following the sequences of your story, editing and cutting with the click with camera. There is no editing, no re-taking, and no colour grading, which means the first time the makers see it themselves, is with the audience.

Harkat Studios, in collaboration with Straight 8 filmmakers from around the world, is bringing you some of the best films of the format, (and undoubtedly one of the most difficult kinds to make) in an unforgettable edition called “Straight 8 says hello Mumbai”. This promises to be an evening of pure, raw and raucous entertainment not to be missed.

EK MINUTE: In addition to these films, the DIY films made under the Ek Minute category will be screened the same evening.

INTERNATIONAL SHORTS: Harkat Studios will also be screening the selected entries for the 16 mm Film Festival on the closing day.
