Ojapali started as a collaboration between singer Bhargav Das, and guitarist Dhon Rongpi as the duo started recreating Lokageet or Assamese folk songs during their time studying music production. After a few jam sessions, they started producing original material.The band has since added percussionist Bivas Sharma, who plays ethnic percussion instruments such as Kanjira, Morchung and Darbouka amongst others.
