Ojapali is a folk fusion act based in Delhi. It started off as a

collaboration between composers Bhargava Das and Dhon Rongpi, who

met in audio engineering college in 2013. Dhon then brought in Bivas

Sharma a year later, who was also interested in the idea of making original

folky compositions and recreating traditional folk songs. He in turn roped

in violinist Rakesh – whose addition to the band , the members agreed,

brought them to a point of “sounding decently folk-ish ”.

The band has since worked upon their interpretations of various traditional songs for a live setup, and their debut EP - tentatively titled “Sonor Din” - is set to

release by the end of 2016.
