About the Show

EK Hai Amrita is a theatrical journey through the life and soul of Amrita Pritam—a poet, a rebel, and a woman who lived fearlessly through her words and relationships.

The play traces her early years, her defiance of patriarchal norms, and her emergence as one of the most influential literary voices of the 20th century.

At its heart lies her timeless and unfulfilled bond with Sahir Ludhianvi, alongside her deeply soulful companionship with Imroz, a relationship that became poetry in itself. Their contrasts, connections, and emotional landscapes unfold beautifully on stage.

The production also explores Amrita’s profound literary and spiritual dialogues through letters and reflections, including her associations with Shiv Kumar Batalvi and Sara Shagufta, revealing deeper dimensions of her inner world.
