'Catch me if you can!'

This Children’s Day we bring the joy and levity of words and how they can transform into fun stories full of imaginative mirth and exciting discoveries, if only we can catch them!

The workshop will primarily focus on how words are hidden in the environment around us and are simply waiting for us to find them. In this scavenger hunt for stories, full of activities and movement, children will once again meet the malleability of words and the connecting power of stories.

In this workshop we will specifically look at:

- Scene building: What are the nuances that go into building a good scene, and how we can find it in spaces around us

- Movement/Rhythm: How the story moves on the page is determined by the patterns we discover in nature

- Sensory details: What I see, hear, smell and touch can become important details that feed the story

- Setting and Atmosphere: Where I find a word can impact where I set the story
