The film follows Jay, an undocumented immigrant in Los Angeles who, after learning about a serious medical complication involving his pregnant sister back home, hatches an outrageous plan to stage a hate crime against himself in hopes of qualifying for a U-Visa. What begins as a comedic spiral soon evolves into an emotional reckoning about family, belonging, and survival, leading him to bizarre encounters including a Neo-Nazi support group that turns out to be far more supporting than expected.
