FILM a.k.a. Sanil Sudan is a New Delhi based DJ, Producer and former curator at the two mainstays for electronic music in the capital. Sudan makes dancefloor-friendly House, Breaks and IDM under the alias FILM. To celebrate old Detroit techno through leaner productions, Sudan uses the moniker Tyrell Dub Corp. His debut eponymous album FILM (2022, Qilla Records) was a cohesive 52 minutes of ambient pads, zig-lining techno and old-school breaks, as he shifted gears towards a more songwriting approach. The LP was well received by Resident Advisor, Bolting Bits, Groove Mag, Ransom Note, named Best New Music by indie pioneering zine A Humming Heart – as well as featured with artist profiles – in the New Indian Express / Morning Standard and The Indian Music Diaries.
