Nothing quite encapsulates the essence of nature as the sounds of the earth. The Songs of the soil - rolling thunder, the pitter patter of rain, the rustling of trees in the breeze, the gurgling of a river, the crashing of ocean waves or the sounds of the forest at night, all create a sense a oneness with mother nature, a sense of peace, a sense of rejuvenation. 

At this month’s Under the Banyan Tree on a Full Moon Night, we seek to celebrate the wondrous beauty of the earth and celebrate this place we call home. With a focus on music that is deeply rooted, the August edition of our full moon concert series will aim to uplift spirits both within and without. Our two performers for the evening perfectly encapsulate the theme - ‘Songs of the Soil’. 

Artist Lineup:

Ditty is a Goa-based urban ecologist and singer-songwriter who sings earthsongs, combining music with experimental spatial experiences.

Nirali Kartik is a Hindustani classical vocalist from Mumbai who represents a venerable musical tradition rooted in nature and the sounds of the earth. Catch her perform at 'Friends of Music : Under the Banyan Tree on a Full Moon Night' on August 10, 2019 at 1AQ.  

Just like music, another feature of this month’s full moon experience will be wholesome organic cuisine. Fresh from farm to plate, the evening will serve up some delicious salads, soothing juices and other mouth-watering treats.
