At Vividhata, visitors are introduced to the timeless art of hand block printing, a technique where intricately carved wooden blocks are applied to fabric with colored pigments to create repeating patterns and designs. Participants work with a variety of block shapes and natural and synthetic dyes to craft their own printed textiles. Guided instruction demystifies each step of the block printing process, from selecting materials through pressing, alignment, and color layering, so that each person can take home a unique handmade creation.
