The IEM-UEM Kolkata Marathon is one of the most prestigious and celebrated running events in India, drawing runners from across the country and beyond. Launched in 2017 through the initiative of the IEM-UEM Group, the marathon has grown steadily each year from a few thousand participants in its early editions to a major citywide sporting occasion and is now heading into its milestone 10th edition. Today, the marathon is a full member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), making it one of India's few internationally recognised, AIMS-certified running events. Its certified course meets rigorous global standards for accuracy and safety, placing the IEM-UEM Kolkata Marathon firmly on the world running map.
