Workshop Description:

Step into the colorful world of Vincent van Gogh and discover how emotion and imagination come alive through paint! 🌻

In this fun, hands-on art workshop, kids will recreate “Van Gogh’s Chair”—a simple yet powerful painting that shows how everyday things can tell a story.

Through guided observation and expressive brushwork, children will learn to see art the way Van Gogh did — full of warmth, movement, and feeling. They’ll sketch, blend, and paint using bold strokes and rich textures, bringing their own version of The Chair to life.

💡 Did you know? Van Gogh painted The Chair in 1888 in his tiny yellow house in France — and many believe the empty chair was his way of painting a self-portrait without himself! 🎨

By the end, each child will have their own Van Gogh-inspired artwork — a beautiful mix of color, creativity, and heart. 💛

🖌️ Session Plan

1. Introduction to Van Gogh’s World (15 mins)

We’ll begin by exploring Van Gogh’s life, his love for colors, and how he found meaning in simple objects. Kids will observe “Van Gogh’s Chair” and share what they notice — the colors, textures, and emotions it expresses.

2. Hands-On Painting: Van Gogh’s Chair (90 mins)

Step-by-step guidance will help kids sketch, layer colours,` and experiment with expressive brushstrokes. They’ll learn how to mix paints, create texture, and bring depth to their work — all while enjoying the joy of free expression.

3. Wrap-Up & Reflection (15 mins)

The workshop ends with a mini “art gallery walk” where kids display their masterpieces. We’ll reflect on what they learnt and capture the creative energy with a cheerful group photo! 📸

💛 Important Instructions

1. Parents are requested to drop off and pick up after the session.

2. Limited waiting outside our studio classroom; no waiting inside EuroKids reception or classrooms.

3. Please arrive 5–10 minutes early so your child can settle in comfortably.

4. Carry a water bottle and dress your child in comfortable clothes — it might get a little painty!

5. Make sure your child eats well before the session, as there won’t be a snack break.

6. We’re located on the 2nd floor inside EuroKids Pre-School. If you face any difficulty, just ask the EuroKids staff or call us — we’ll be happy to guide you.

7. If you’d prefer your child’s photos not to be shared on social media, simply inform us when you arrive.
