Experience Kasak-Masak - an evening of thumri, kathak and storytelling at Harkat Studios. Kasak-Masak blends three forms of art: thumri + tabla, kathak and storytelling into an experience which lets you forget space and time.

Effortlessly flowing between the three art forms, they pull us into their world, representing the five elements of nature. Nature, in all its glory, can be soothing as well as destructive. The five elements, in their calm and wild state, will be explored through storytelling, dance and music.

While every representation will show an essential part of the element, the nuances will be left open to the interpretation of the audience. This isn’t just a performance. This is an experience.

Sriparna Chatterjee (Thumri)

Sriparna Chatterjee is a trained singer in Hindustani classical music. Armed with some classic thumris and bandishes along with original compositions, Sriparna will represent nature through the usage of Raga pertaining to each element of nature.

Ishita Sharma (Kathak)

Ishita Sharma is a well-known Kathak dancer and actress. With a lot of performances in her kitty, Ishita has always enthralled the audience with her expressive dancing skills. Passionate to take Kathak dance to a wider range of audience, Ishita represents the elements through her dance and abhinay.

Akriti Singh (Storytelling)

An accomplished film and theatre actor and director, Akriti Singh is an ace storyteller as well and she will recite stories from Woody Allen to Amrita Pritam and blend in all the elements through her seamless storytelling.
