Kasango has emerged as one of South Africa’s most exciting global DJs, performing over 120 shows across every continent in the past year. Known for his infectious smile, instinctive musical selections and magnetic energy behind the decks, his passion reaches far beyond the dance floor. Born Kasmario Thulani Ike Fankis in Welkom, South Africa, Kasango discovered house music at 16. Inspired by South African artists gaining global recognition, a defining moment came in 2009 when he saw Black Coffee perform in his hometown and knew he wanted to become a DJ. His breakthrough arrived in 2019 when his debut single, One Night featuring Jamie Fallon Smith, appeared on Black Coffee’s Appreciation Mix. He later released Osama with Grammy-winning artist Zakes Bantwini, earning Pete Tong’s prestigious BBC Radio 1 Essential New Tune. In 2024, his remix of TMPLE received the same honour. His 2025 collaboration Fire Fire with Shimza and AR/CO surpassed 30 million streams within four months, further cementing Kasango’s position on the global stage.
