This experience is planned to introduce to you a beautiful country, Latvia, tucked away in the Northern reaches of Europe, by the Baltic Sea. Originally one of the oldest countries in Europe, its geographic location made it vulnerable to attack and conquest, right from the Germans in medieval times, to the Nazis and finally of course, Communist Russia. This year, Latvia celebrates the 100th year of its first independence from German occupation.

How do I know all this? Thanks to my Latvian husband who I met here, and who now lives here! I now know so much about this country whose name I barely knew, - right from its heritage and culture with roots in paganism, (like many of its neighbors), to the Latvian language's extensive shared vocabulary with Sanskrit. Which have led to many theories, one of which is that the earliest "Latvians" were a people that migrated out of India! So come discover, and enjoy an afternoon of high tea in our lovely garden villa featuring canapés with Latvian recipes, pancakes and cold soup, and the famous Latvian liquer, Riga Black Balsam, all in our lovely garden. And accompanied by some soulful Latvian folk music!
