Alfaaz presents a Dramatic Readings at The Community, Bandra. a performance of fascinating stories that will bring out and bring together the artist in you!

From Tennessee to Tendulkar, Dramatic Readings are a great way for thespians and non-thespians to discover texts and scripts from across the globe! These readings will be conducted by theatre professionals and will be followed by discussion and exploration of the material at hand.

In this edition, we will be celebrating pride by performing the reading of brilliant and precocious Ismat Chugtai’s Lihaaf. This is a tale of liberation, drama and euphemisms galore! ‘Published in the year 1941, way before Independence, in an Urdu Literary Journal titled Adaab-i-Latif. It was about repressed sexual desires and the exploitation of another’s body to fulfil oneself.
