Set in the year 2007, the play begins in a time when internet has just become a new craze and internet cafés are all the hype, just like the cafe of our story - Café Online, owned by Guru, the sardonic and sarcastic narrator of the play.
This café is regularly visited by two lonely middle-aged souls - Yash and Payal. Yash, once a happy man, has been in the midst of an ugly divorce for the past 15 years. Meanwhile, our leading lady Payal is a single mother, having been widowed at the age of 30. Both these characters have a tragic past, a lonely present and a diehard love for Bollywood.
It is this craze that begins the story, when Yash and Payal, under false aliases, happen to meet each other online. Both being avid lovers of retro-bollywood, they speak and flirt with each other by using filmy dialogues and songs from the 50s,60s and 70s.
This fun flirty love blossoms into a beautiful romance which turns into a full-fledged Bollywood movie with dance, drama and of course a twist, that leaves the audience singing "Abhi na jao chord kar, ki dil abhi bhara nahi!"
