

Math meets arts-and-crafts! Take a strip of paper, twist it once, and join the ends with tape. (do it now!) This is a “Möbius strip”, a paradoxical shape that’s fascinated people for centuries. In this workshop, we'll we'll make, decorate, play with and marvel at Möbius strips! We'll ask questions like "what a map of your town look like if you lived on a Möbius strip?" and "How many sides could a surface have?" Then I'll show you how to go beyond Möbius strips to imagine and create some "impossible shapes?
Prerequisites: ability to use scissors and tape
