Important review for families considering Kumar Resort — please read before booking. We stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 5 (3 adults + 2 kids including a toddler), and if you are expecting a smooth, family-friendly resort experience based on online reviews and photos, think twice. The experience started poorly with delayed check-in (almost 3 hours late )despite traveling with kids and a senior citizen. After a long drive, this immediately created frustration. We had booked a Family Suite and had discussed room expectations beforehand, but were given an old-wing room that felt very dated and disappointing. Yes, the room interiors, fittings and overall feel were nowhere near what we expected for the amount paid. The included breakfast was extremely ordinary and felt like a checkbox item rather than something adding value to the stay. The resort also seemed seriously understaffed, and service quality suffered badly because of it. Slow response, poor coordination and lack of professionalism became noticeable quickly. The biggest disappointment: the water park itself. Several slides were closed, and this was never communicated in advance. For a family resort, this matters because many families book specifically for these facilities. Even the water park staff felt unprofessional. Yes, my kids, spouse, mother and I still managed to enjoy some of the water activities that were open — but honestly, that was because we made the best of the situation, not because the resort delivered a great experience. Very disappointing experience at Kumar Resort by Turtle, Lonavala. Think not once, twice, but thrice before booking this hotel. Completely not worth the money. We were allotted Room No. 307 for a 2-day stay, and the room lock itself was not working properly. Despite repeated complaints, no proper action was taken. Reception never answers calls, housekeeping staff keeps avoiding requests, and the overall service is extremely poor. There is no proper play zone for kids as advertised, and even the swimming pool was dirty and poorly maintained. Breakfast was equally disappointing with very limited and low-quality options. You will also not be able to properly use the towels, as they were visibly unclean, which can clearly be seen from the photos attached. Even after informing the staff about the issue, no replacement towels were provided. Indoor games were also not operational during the stay, adding to the disappointment. To make matters worse, when we requested a discount or refund for the inconvenience caused, we were again told that the manager was “not available.” This seemed to be the standard excuse for everything. Overall, highly unprofessional management, poor maintenance, and terrible customer service. Would strongly advise others not to waste their hard-earned money here. 1 star given only because there is no option to give 0 stars.Read More

Kumar Resort by Turtle in Lonavala is a fantastic family-friendly getaway! The water park is the highlight — thrilling slides, pools, and lots of fun for all ages. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with beautiful views of the hills. The food is delicious with good variety, and the staff is courteous and helpful. Perfect for picnics, group outings, or a relaxing weekend trip near Mumbai/Pune. Great location and excellent amenities. Highly recommended for families and friends!Read More

After the new intervention by Turtle the room conditions and other services have improved really nicely. Since my last visit this time it felt clean and hygienic. No loitering cockroaches and dirty stains on the bedsheets. All and all pleasant experience.Read More

This is one of the most unhygienic and poorly maintained resorts I have ever visited. The floors near the swimming pool were filthy, and instead of cleaning properly, the dirt was simply pushed towards the pool water. There is absolutely no concern for customer hygiene or safety. The management is careless and irresponsible. Strongly NOT recommended for anyone, especially families with children or elderly guests. Avoid this place.Read More
