At the inspiring spaces of Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, this summer workshop invites children to step away from screens as a substitute for activity and reconnect with the joy of movement, imagination, and creative play.
Through guided dance activities, storytelling, rhythm, and interaction with artworks in the museum, children explore how their bodies can express ideas, emotions, and stories. The workshop nurtures creativity while also building important skills such as coordination, focus, confidence, and teamwork.
Children will be introduced to movement through elements of ballet, contemporary dance, Bharatanatyam, and creative movement, allowing them to experience different dance languages while developing physical awareness, posture, rhythm, and musicality. In a supportive and joyful environment, the sessions encourage exploration and curiosity rather than perfection - allowing every child to discover their own unique way of moving.
In a time when children spend increasing hours in front of screens, this workshop offers a refreshing alternative: a space where children can move freely, connect with others, engage their imagination, and experience the energizing power of the arts.
The workshop is led by Nikolina Nikoleski, an internationally recognised dance artist and experienced educator with more than two decades of teaching and performing across cultures and disciplines. Having worked extensively with both children and adults, she brings a thoughtful approach that balances artistic inspiration with supportive guidance, helping young participants feel confident, curious, and free to explore their own creative voice through movement.
By the end of the workshop, children will not only have learned new movements but will also leave with greater confidence, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for art and their own expressive potential.
This workshop is for age group - 4 to 9 years.
