About the Event

Saturday Family Workshop

From the smallest insect colonies to the largest mammal groups, the animal kingdom is filled with skilled builders. This family workshop, inspired by the imaginative world of the Moomins, connects the playful homes of Moominvalley with the real-life architecture of animals. Just as the Moomins create spaces of safety and community in their valley, participants will explore how different species adapt to their habitats to and meet survival needs using local materials. Working with terracotta clay families, will craft their own interpretations of these hidden structures while reflecting on how such creations support life and maintain ecological balance.

Audience takeaways:

●      Understand how animal-built habitats are designed for survival and protection

●      Learn about the variety of construction methods and materials used in nature

●      Explore the connection between habitat design and ecosystem health

●      Recognise the role of teamwork and adaptation in animal architecture

●      Take home a terracotta artwork inspired by the hidden structures of the natural world

While you're here, explore the first-ever Moomin presentation in India – “Moomin 80 – The Door is Always Open” at KNMA Saket and let it inspire you!
