Priya Malik is an Indian actress, poet, and storyteller hailing from Dehradun. She completed her early education at Carman School and later at Convent of Jesus and Mary High School. She pursued a degree in English Honours at Shri Venkateshwara College and later earned a Master’s degree in Teaching and Applied Linguistics from the University of South Australia. Starting her career as a quality analyst, tutor, and trainer in India, Priya transitioned to teaching high school students in Adelaide, Australia, after moving there. She gained recognition as a finalist representing South Australia in the 2013 Australian Poetry Slam. Priya’s foray into stand-up comedy saw her performing with renowned comedy clubs like Cranker Comedy, SA Comedy, and A Mic in Hand Comedy. She participated in the 11th season of Big Brother Australia in 2014 and, after returning to India, joined the 9th season of Bigg Boss on Colors TV. As a social activist, she has championed causes like the "Free the Nipple" campaign and advocated for tax-free sanitary napkins. In 2017, she starred in the women-centric theatre play Selfie, directed by Tannaz Irani. The following year, she delivered a talk at TEDx Symbiosis International University, Pune. Priya has gained popularity in spoken word poetry, featuring on platforms such as UnErase Poetry, Spill Poetry, and Tape A Tale. Her notable works include Mujhe Pyar Nahi Ishq Chahiye, Broken But Beautiful, and 2019 Mai 1999. In 2019, Priya played Dukaayan in the Star Plus series Nazar and hosted Uncensored News on TV9 Bharatvarsh. She launched an online poetry workshop, Priya Kisi Pathshaala, in 2020, and starred in the short film Jeena Abhi Baaki Hai in 2022. Her achievements include being featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine and earning a spot in World Business Review Corporation UK's 45 Under 45 India list for her poetic contributions.
