About Shayan Roy and his Music, Content & Keeping Your Identity Workshop

Shayan is a Mumbai-based rapper/singer and songwriter, and is well known for being a former video producer at Buzzfeed India. He started his musical journey at the age of 15, when he began dabbling in electronic music production, blues-rock and hip hop. His first single Vincent Chase Slippin with Bengaluru-based producer MALFNKTION was released in 2018, along with a music video which aired on VH1 India. Shayan’s latest project is Triangles, a hip hop/R&B project with vocalist Rolex Rasathy and producer So Fire. His influences reflect the diverse extent of music he has explored over the years from Kendrick Lamar, Mos Def and Mac Miller, to 90s artists like Jeff Buckley and Chris Cornell, as well as producers like Baths, Shigeto, and Flying Lotus.
