About

Science Unplugged is a monthly outreach event thoughtfully curated to break down and communicate ongoing research across diverse scientific domains in a clear, engaging, and accessible manner for the general public. By translating complex ideas into meaningful conversations, it bridges the gap between active research and public understanding.

The mission of Science Unplugged is to ignite curiosity, foster critical thinking, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for science among audiences of all backgrounds. The event is open to everyone, whether you are taking your first steps into the world of science or are a seasoned expert, because meaningful scientific dialogue thrives on inclusivity and shared curiosity.

About Speaker - Sakshi Jain is a final year PhD student at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. She studies how genes regulate immune cell behaviour and tissue communication during infection using Drosophila as a model system. She loves turning complex science into stories that anyone can enjoy. Apart from science, she also enjoys watching movies, reading books, running and practicing yoga.
