Our meetings consist of a screening of an arthouse film, followed by a discussion. The discussion is led by one of our members or sometimes a guest speaker and encourages members to share their thoughts and interpretations of the film.

Curator's Note:

In "Our Realities", we have Wang Bing's "Father and Sons". Filmed during the making of "Three Sisters", this film follows the life of a stonemason in the mountains of Yunnan, China, living with his sons. A meditation into the daily events of their lives, Bing offers a silent panorama on the lives of the people of China.

Who are The Parallel Cinema Club?

We are a community-run film society based out of Bengaluru and Hyderabad. We are a group of film enthusiasts who meet up to discuss the real world, auteurs, and themes, and occasionally host guest lectures.
