Our meetings consist of a screening of an arthouse film, followed by a discussion. The discussion is led by one of our members or sometimes a guest speaker and encourages members to share their thoughts and interpretations of the film.

Curator's Note:

In "Love in a Different Life" we look at the complexities of romance, and in it we have "The Last Picture Show" by Peter Bogdanovich. A messy love story of high school seniors, an affair, and their teenage crisis about adulthood. 

Who are The Parallel Cinema Club?

We are a community-run film society based out of Bengaluru and Hyderabad. We are a group of film enthusiasts who meet up to discuss the real world, auteurs, and themes, and occasionally host guest lectures.
