Shashi Dhiman
"Shashi Dhiman is an Indian stand-up comedian, YouTuber, and former pharma scientist from Chandigarh. Born 18 February 1995 in Chandigarh (Punjab/Haryana), she grew up in the city, pursued a pharma-related degree, and worked as a pharma scientist by day while doing comedy by night.
Friends encouraged her after they laughed at her stories, so she began performing at the few open mics available in Chandigarh. To find a real scene, she moved to Mumbai in 2020, hitting up to four open mics a day, writing, testing material, and settling into a 9-to-7 day job alongside gigs.
Her breakthrough came online—her YouTube channel (started Jan 2019) now has 500K–650K+ subscribers and 130M–250M+ views, with viral crowd-work bits like “Ex by Chance,” “Siblings,” and “choti bacchi ho kya.” She also has 340K–460K Instagram followers (@sassygirlofficial). She’s noted for a distinct Punjabi accent, refreshing delivery, and balancing humor with empathy while tackling real-life experiences, stereotypes, and womanhood.
Dhiman finished as runner-up on Amazon Prime’s _Comicstaan_ Season 3 (2022) and has performed across India—Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow, etc.—with her solo show _Pannu Yaar_ and later shows drawing from marriage, love, and societal expectations. She anchored and created fun content for Punjab Kings’ social handles during IPL 2023, going viral as the team’s “mystery girl” and interviewing players.
She’s appeared at Foxtale’s No Fox Given (2025) alongside Swati Sachdeva, performed at college fests (Chitkara University), and is described as unapologetic yet respectful—standing by her truth while keeping jokes relatable rather than judgmental. Now based in Mumbai, she continues to tour, post clips, and be one of the prominent young female voices in Indian stand-up."
