About the artist

Zainab Tambawalla is an illustrator, urban sketcher, and educator with a background in applied art and animation film design from The National Institute of Design. She contributed to award-winning shorts like Raju and Maaa while at Animagic. Her work includes children's book illustrations and personal sketches documenting urban change and stories of resilience. Her Mumbai-focused project The Spirit of Mumbai, which captured craftsmen's stories during COVID, won the Urban Sketchers grant. She currently teaches at Ecole Intuit Lab Mumbai.
