Clayborn hosts a Sufi night with one of the most recognisable voices in Punjabi devotional music. Jyoti Nooran takes the stage for an evening of qawwali, kalaam and Sufi folk performed the way it's meant to be — live, unhurried, and loud with feeling.
Jyoti Nooran is one half of the Nooran Sisters, the Jalandhar-born duo trained in the Sham Chaurasia gharana whose playback work includes the A.R. Rahman-composed Patakha Guddi. Her voice carries the full weight of that training — raw, soaring, and built for a room rather than a studio.
A set drawn from Sufi standards, Punjabi folk and the songs that made the Nooran name, delivered with live accompaniment. Expect long notes held past where you think they'll end, and a crowd that responds out loud.
Clayborn's fifth floor dressed for the occasion — warm lamplight, floor-level seating and a stage close enough to catch every ornament in the vocal. A curated bar and an elevated menu run through the evening.
