Surrendering my Radha is a milestone artistic work developed by Mavin Khoo in his 50th year.
Based on a single verse selected from the renowned 12th-century masterpiece – the Gita Govinda by the poet Jayadeva, Surrendering my Radha explores the female protagonist that sits within each of the male performers. The work is underpinned by a philosophy that sees Desire and Divinity existing as inseparable experiences.
Celebrating his life in Dance, Khoo invites into his creative space three of Carnatic music’s most exciting male vocalists: Vignesh Ishwar, Rithvik Raja, and S. Adithyanarayanan . Designing the lighting for the production is the much sought after technician, Victor Paulraj.
With a newly developed score and a distinctively imagined choreography that plays between practice and spontaneity, Khoo draws the world into the intimacy of an encounter of seduction between Radha and Krishna.
