Mahesh kumar and his wife , Deepa have a disagreement regarding the education of their daughter , Rashmi . Deepa wants her to stay at home and become an artist , while Mahesh wants Rashmi to move to mumbai and study to be a teacher .

In the struggle to control the future of the child both Mahesh and Deepa try to dominate each other .
