The Gathering is a food festival like no other, where 9 chefs and 9 artists come together to create 9 unique dining experiences for one weekend only. Each of the tables at The Gathering, reserved for just twenty guests, draws inspiration from themes of Conservation, Innovation & Exploration. This table brings together Chef Viraf Patel and Artist Alex Davis to share their take on Innovation through food and art.

Imagine it is 2125. The relentless rise of sea levels has reshaped Earth into a world of vast, shimmering oceans. Cities that once stood proudly on solid ground are now submerged beneath the waves. Land has become a distant memory. Fresh water is a resource as precious as gold in a world where salt saturates every drop. Welcome to The Last Harvest, a table dedicated to human ingenuity and surviving the inevitable future of life in the next century. Chef Viraf and Artist Alex Davis come together to conceptualize a world in which what we eat and how we think about food has changed forever. 


Chef Profile: Viraf Patel 


The food industry has been home to Chef Viraf on multiple counts- from working at their family owned restaurant in Zurich, to studying culinary arts at Les Roches, and later, being behind names such as Indigo, Touch, Cafe Zoe, Smoke House Grill, The Tasting Room and more. He is one of India’s best culinary masters who is known for his innovative approach to modern cuisine and his love for honest, true-to-soul cooking


Artist Profile: Alex Davis 


A contemporary Indian sculptor, artist and designer, he transforms the ordinary into the exceptional, by a use of scale, proportions and materials. He is known for his masterful work with high-grade stainless steel, turning it into pieces of sculpture. The Champa Tree, the Olive tree or massive florals from The Valley of Flowers that are true to life but rendered in the hard reflective metal are proof of his aesthetic skill and technical abilities.
