Question 2

What exactly is a Biennale?

Accepted Answer

A Biennale is a large-scale, periodic event where artists and thinkers utilize an entire city as a platform to present works that explore significant contemporary questions. The India Biennale'26 is designed to be highly accessible; no prior art expertise is required to participate.

Question 3

What is the theme of the Biennale this year?

Accepted Answer

The theme is "Tat Tvam Asi", a profound concept from ancient Indian philosophy that translates to "You Are That". It emphasizes the fundamental interconnectedness of all things. Through this theme, the Biennale encourages attendees to slow down and reconnect with nature, culture, community, and themselves.

Question 4

Where is the event taking place?

Accepted Answer

The Biennale is hosted across multiple locations throughout Delhi. While Purana Qila serves as the central venue, events and exhibitions are also held at prominent heritage sites including the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, and Safdarjung Tomb, among others.

Question 5

How long does the Biennale run?

Accepted Answer

The event spans 108 days, running from 4 December 2026, through 21 March 2027. This extended duration provides ample opportunity for visitors to attend multiple times.

Question 6

What is the Biennale Pass?

A single pass grants access to Biennale events across the entire city, including exhibitions, pavilions, and performances. Visitors can select a pass duration that suits their schedule, ranging from a single day to the full 108 days.

Question 7

What can attendees expect to see?

Accepted Answer

The Biennale offers a diverse range of experiences beyond traditional exhibitions. In addition to visual art, visitors can explore immersive installations, specially constructed pavilions, design showcases, live performances, film screenings, digital works, and guided heritage walks that offer a new perspective on Delhi.

Question 8

Is the event only for art experts?

Accepted Answer

No. The Biennale is designed to be accessible to everyone. It welcomes students, first-time visitors, creative professionals, tourists, families, collectors, and anyone with a general curiosity about art and culture.
