About the Event

Indian cuisine has always been renowned for its flavours, textures & sheer good taste. The same can be said for Khoja cuisine, a distinctive & delicious mix of culinary styles. To celebrate the flavoursome food of the Khoja community, The Curry Brothers introduces a one-of-a-kind Khoja Festival at the Bandra outlet!

It is said that the food of the Khoja community (South Asians who have converted into Islam) , is the best form of Mughlai cooking. Indeed, their cuisine is an exotic mix of the Mughlai style laced with interesting influences of Gujarat. Be it delicately flavoured meat, a hint of herbs or a sprinkling of home-ground masalas, Khoja food is simple & authentic, echoing the accumulated tastes of generations. Interesting fact - The Khoja community has been known to host the most lavish, succulent meals!

In keeping with this traditional Khoja cuisine, The Curry Brothers presents the Khoja Festival, the menu for which is sure to make your mouth water! You can begin your meal with delectable bites of the golden, fried Kheema Samosas, prepared to perfection. Move on to the delicate, slightly spicy Dahi Baigan before indulging in the delicious, lightly crunchy Kacche Kheema Ka Kebab.

Make sure to feast like a king with the Raan, served with a thick gravy that will have you going in for more. You can also try the Chicken Roast, cooked in a mouth-watering rich broth that will remind you of home cooked meals. The classic Patra Corn & Tomato is a must-have & is the perfect blend of Mughlai & Gujarati styles of cooking. Save some room for the traditionally prepared Lal Batata, which was often served in Jamatkhanas in the days gone by. Another absolutely mouth-watering Khoja dish to try is the Baigan Bharta and Dahi, served with Bajra lassan. This style of cooking is typical of the Khojas, where they add a dhungar, a.k.a. smoky touch to their meals to enhance the taste. Is your mouth watering yet?

"I have always found Khoja cuisine to be absolutely delicious. It is a true reflection of the royal food of India, which is why we decided to come up with this special menu for our Khoja Festival. Extensive amounts of research have gone into each dish & I have tried hard to get all the flavours right. The result is a meticulously prepared wholesome menu, the Khoja way! I cannot wait to see what everyone else has to say about this." signs off Joshua, Founder & Chef at The Curry Brothers.
