The idea behind The Listening Sessions is to bring music video lovers in one space and create conversations around the art and aesthetic behind them. It started out as small home sessions and has eventually scaled out into a monthly property where artists are handpicked who share stories around music videos and discuss them in an open knowledge sharing environment. The format typically involves an opening act by an independent musician from the scene, followed by two speakers who open the dialogue on music videos based around a particular theme.

This time’s line-up includes Vernon Noronha, Vaibhav Kumaresh and Sarat Rao.

Vernon is a singer /songwriter based in Mumbai, whose music can be narrowed down to surf/folk/easy listening. He released his debut single on the NH7 website called *Chasing all over again* and is now up as a free download.

Vernon has a recently launched a new Gig series promoting singer / songwriters known as - Songwriters Unplugged, and plans to take this all over the country. His main aim is to take his simple honest music and experiment playing it to international audiences. His debut EP - *Closer to home * is in production and will be released soon this year.

Vaibhav Kumaresh is an animation film maker and currently founder, director at Vaibhav Studios which he founded in 2003. The studio has created some of India’s favourite animated content in the field of TV commercials and channel promos: the Amaron Battery ad campaign, Chulbuli for Clinic Plus, Buladi’s AIDS awareness campaign for the West Bengal government, Sagar Cement campaign for the Andhra market, the Vodafone Zumis and Simpoo the angry Sardaar math teacher on Channel [V] to name a few. They are currently working on the studios maiden feature film titled Return of the Jungle. A Fine Arts graduate, Vaibhav studied animation film making at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. He also teaches animation and is a visiting faculty at various animation and design schools across India.

He will be sharing a variety of animated music videos produced for various purposes – TV commercials, Channel promos, independent music videos and songs from features.

Sarat Rao is a writer/director who has many obsessions from the history of mathematics to western classical music and is almost never bored.

Sarat will guide the audience through a session that takes a look at music videos based on books and see how they've used the texts. This is a curious and at the same time interesting approach to music videos and has fascinated him as it lies at the intersection of what he does - film-making and writing.
