ABOUT THE POET: Pramod Shankar

Pramod Shankar’s poetry was shortlisted for the All-India Poetry Award organized by The Poetry Society—India and the British High Commission in 1993 and 1994. His published books of poetry are From the Terrace, Writers Workshop, 2000; Mind the Monkey, Booksthakam, 2020; and Varalaalinte Mazhakkottu (The Murrel’s Raincoat: Malayalam), Ivory Books, 2022. He has also published a book of nonfiction, The Power of Positive Healing, Gangarams, 1995. Pramod’s poetry has been featured in the yearly collections of The Poetry Society—India and the British High Commission, 1993 & 1994; The Journal of Literature and Aesthetics, 2004; and The Palm Leaf, published from London, 2022. He is the founder of Poetry with Zac, the world’s only poetry meet chaired by a cocker spaniel, which he has been organizing from his backyard for over 7 years.
