"When are you planning on finding someone?"
"Don't stay alone too long!"
"It's all fine now, but what about 5 years from now?"
Being a single woman in a highly heteronormative society can be exhausting.
Friends, families, strangers - everyone has something to say, ranging from well-meaning concerns to highly intrusive instructions.
😒 You may have a fully-formed plan - but people often don't want to hear it.
🤫 You may want to think things through to arrive at some clarity - but people don't want to make the space.
😓 You may be anxious around any conversations about your life.
All of this may prevent you from even having these important conversations with yourself - so let's make some space for that!

About:
The Coffeeshop Counsellor is a mental health practice led by women psychotherapists, dedicated to making emotional wellness approachable for those who are seeking real conversation and community. Here, emotional wellness is made warm and human, not clinical or intimidating. The therapists blend professional support and open dialogue to help women name their feelings, unpack the pressure to “be sorted", and sit with the loneliness that can come with choosing paths that don’t always match society’s expectations. This sharing circle is an extension of that mission: a space for women—especially those choosing to be single—to come together, feel less alone in their questions and fatigue, and explore their inner world in the company of others who *get it*. Through reflection, conversation, and grounding exercises, the circle invites women to honour their choices, their vulnerabilities, and their need for community, without judgement or performance.
