About the Event

Do you want to expand your creative horizon and learn the different art forms existing in India?

In this course, you will learn the techniques of Warli Art. Warli paintings are believed to be one of the oldest forms of art in history. It is a tribal art mostly done by Adivasi from North Sahyadri Range in India, i.e. in western India.

This form of tribal art mainly makes use of geometric shapes such as circles, triangles, and squares to form numerous shapes depicting the life and beliefs of the Warli tribe.

The Warli tribe believes in harmony between nature and man, and often these beliefs depicted in their paintings. The painting was done on a brown background made of mud and cow dung. The white pigment used to draw shapes and figures was a mixture of rice mixed with water and gum. 

In this course, you'll go through the following concepts -

  • The course will be all about the derailed course of Warli art.
  • The teacher will make the students aware about the raw material required and the about the benefits of making Warli art , coasters, wall art and making of Warli art jewellery.
  • Students will get to know how to create their own start-up with this. Students will do detailed work on Warli after learning the basics of Warli.

Materials required for the workshop:

  • Cartridge paper or ivory sheet 
  • Cardboard or CD
  • GSM or pastel paper
  • Scale 
  • Pencil, rubber and cutter
  • Permanent marker ( fine tip)- any colour ( optional)
  • Pilot pen or gel pen ( black)
  • A4 sheets
  • Fevicol or fabric glue
  • Jewellery wire ( eye pin)
  • Pliers - cutter and moulder plier 
  • Fabric colour 
  • Brush ( thin and thick)
  • Fevi quick
  • Compass
  • Embroidery frame
  • Cotton clothe piece
