Since ages the spiritual and mystical India has attracted tourists, photographers and artists alike. There is nothing more stunning than a work of art that captures this essence of India through portraits of its ascetics, wandering monks and holy men and women devoted to the path of liberation.

Nishikant Palande, an alumnus of the prestigious JJ School of Arts (Mumbai), has been capturing the brilliance of this spiritual India through his striking watercolor portraits. He beautifully uses watercolor as a medium to strike the delicate balance between ethereal and earthy. He also has a Diploma in Art Education from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyala and enjoys giving demos and conducting workshops for aspiring watercolor beginners and amateur artists alike. He has won numerous awards for his works and also runs a successful design studio.

Join this one day workshop to learn the basics of watercolor portrait painting along the theme of spiritual India where Nishikant will give a live demo and help you bring to life a watercolor portrait of your own. Choose and bring your photo reference on the theme or choose from one of our photo references in the class.

We will provide high quality cold-pressed Arches paper, artist grade watercolor paints, palette, pad etc for use in the workshop EXCLUDING paint brushes. You can bring your own set of flat and round paint brushes or choose to buy from us on the day of the workshop.

SUITABLE FOR anyone who is familiar with usage of watercolor paints and has attempted portraiture at least once. Age minimum 15 years+.

VENUE: Our venue is an air conditioned space with ample of comfortable seating, bright lights and clean washrooms. Comfort of the participants is just as important to us to ensure everyone can focus on the learning.

FOOD: Lunch, tea/coffee and refreshments will be provided.
