A family workshop exploring lines, patterns, and geometric structures through paper weaving.
Create geometric patterns through paper weaving, exploring how lines, repetition, and structure come together through making. Drawing from the practices of Nasreen Mohamedi and Bice Lazzari, participants observe how simple elements such as lines, marks, intervals, and repeated forms create rhythm, balance, and movement.
The workshop also draws from the intricate geometric patterns of Islamic jaali architecture, where lines intersect and repeat to form complex designs. Through paper weaving, participants experiment with horizontal and vertical strips, arranging and interlacing them to create patterns and visual rhythms.
Through this hands-on process, families explore geometry, repetition, and composition, discovering how simple elements can come together to create complex visual forms.
While you're here, explore KNMA's ongoing exhibitions In-Rhythm and Inheritors of Earth.
Bringing families together through making and shared discovery, the programme offers a creative way to experience the museum and enjoy art in Delhi, near Saket.
