Wench Film Festival is India’s first and only festival dedicated to horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. Founded in 2021, the festival has screened 188 films and spotlighted 495 women filmmakers, and is a member of the Méliès International Festivals Federation.


Now in its 6th edition, Wench operates as both a film festival and a cultural platform engaging with cinema, sound, performance, AI, and new media.


PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS


Wench Film Festival 2026 will present:


- Indian and international short and feature films


- Curated sections across horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and hybrid cinema


- A focus on new and emerging voices


- Special thematic programmes responding to the body, systems, memory, and transformation


- Filmmaker conversations, talks, and curated discussions


- An India Focus Day with Filmmakers in Attendance for QnA  


- Closing Day dedicated to films Made by Woman – Female Drishti


- First time - AI section called Pixels and Possession


- 52 Films - 20 from India, 8 from Asia, 33 Directed by Women!


Wench presents curated screenings, conversations, and special programmes that emphasise originality, experimentation, and strong genre storytelling.
