Get introduced to the magical world of spoken word as a form of poetry, and learn how to go about writing and performing your very own spoken word piece on the stage. Through a series of guided writing and performance exercises, this workshop will bring out the spoken word artist in you.

Bonus: at the end of the workshop, there will be an online open mic where you get to showcase the skills you've learned in the workshop, and practice what you've learned!

About the Instructor:

Sudeep Pagedar is a Bengaluru-based writer, poet, creative solutions consultant, and workshop facilitator. A recipient of a National Award for Creative Writing from the President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, he has also won the city-level Mumbai Metro Poetry Prize in 2016. In 2017, his spoken word poem on patriarchy and male privilege went viral, with the video garnering over a million views. Later, the same year, he was on the jury for selecting students' poems for the Tata Literature Live Festival in Mumbai.

Two of Sudeep's poems are taught at the middle-school level in the United States of America.
